SGS Turbulent Kinetic Energy
I am running a LES on STAR-CCM+ 12.02 and I am trying to obtain the SGS Turbulent Kinetic Energy.
When I check the option "Transient Sotarage Retained" over Dynamic Smagorinsky model, a variable called "Filtered velocity" appears in the Field Functions. However, there is no value being attributed to this variable during the calculation. In the software manual, it is writen that a built-in SGS Turbulent Kinetic Energy becomes available when an aeroacoustics or combustion model is activated. I tried that one but nothing was made available to me. Does anyone know how can I obtain such thing? Thanks!! |
I'm using WALE and SGS Turbulent Kinetic Energy is automatically attributed.
However you can try this: - Make your settings (Change to LES etc.....) - Create a table with an auto-update - Choose a derived point and the function you want to have evaluated as scalar - Step for one timestep and check if you have a value. I think you should be able to "force" the calculation like this |

I have managed to get in contact with the software support and they told me it was a bug in the version I am using. Luckly, there is already a new version available where this issue was fixed. I will try what you have suggested anyway. |
