Can't Start a Simulation/Project

Hi, I'm new to using STAR-CCM+ as of today and I'm trying to run CFD analysis on a FSAE race car. I just was granted a power on demand license and am running into errors when starting a new simulation or project. The error I'm receiving when starting a simulation is as follows:
Design STAR-CCM+ simulation completed
Server process ended unexpectedly (return code 8)

I have the most recent version of STAR-CCM+installed on a Windows 7 computer. I've already gone into the firewall settings and allowed access through the 1999 and 2099 ports with no avail. Any help on getting started would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

This is not the full error, this is just the tail end of it. Every STAR-CCM+ session that exits abnormally says this. Please post the rest of the error.

I had to delete some of the commands in the "command" input. Specifically I deleted -cpubind -shh -rsh and it worked after that.

Problem with open simulations

Hi everyone,

I am using ultraVNC user to connect to my university cluster to use Star-ccm+. When i try to open a new or an existing simulation the following error comes up:
Starting local server: /opt/CD-adapco/12.02.010-R8/STAR-CCM+12.02.010-R8/star/bin/starccm+ -server -power -podkey IWXoAb48LNBbfP/jnUY3Sg -licpath 1999@flex.cd-adapco.com -rsh ssh
Serial process 29251

STAR-CCM+ 12.02.010 (linux-x86_64-2.5/gnu4.8-r8)
License build date: 10 February 2015
This version of the code requires license version 2017.02 or greater.
Checking license file: 1999@flex.cd-adapco.com
Error in checking out ccmppower: FLEXnet error: (-20001,147)
Failed to get all licenses needed for this job. Asked for 1 licenses of ccmppower

My licence works perfect on my own computer the problem comes up only when i try to use Star from the cluster. Note that the cluster is running on linux. Could someone help solve this?

Thanks a lot in advance.

You're using a power on demand license, so this means the cluster is having problems reaching the POD server (flex.cd-adapco.com). Look in the user guide for steps on ensuring the proper ports and whatnot are open on the cluster's firewall.

If that doesn't work you can always just set up an ssh tunnel to your machine and forward the port.

How to fix this error. Kindly help

As mentioned in the first response, every session that ends abnormally prints this message. Dump the contents of the console window if you want any assistance

Apostrophes ' are illegal characters in filepaths
Just rename your folder Siemen's Star CCM+ course to something plainer.
