Star CCM+ Help
Hello
I am studying mechanical engineering and I need to do a project with star ccm+ but I never used CFD programs before. I am trying to learn how to use the program for two-phase flow (Gas-Liquid) because my project focuses on the interaction between them. I am trying to solve the Stefan problem with gas and water but I do not know how. the model is 40 mm long with about 1 mm in height (hight does not matter because I want to model it as 1 D) I set up my model as Two Dimensional Implicit Unsteady Eulerian Multiphase VOF laminar flow segregated multiphase temperature gravity for the phase interaction model I chose VOF-VOF VOF boiling Rohsenow Boiling interactive density the material properties are the density of both Gas and Water are 1 kg/m3 the mixture latent heat is 1000 kJ/kg the surface tension is 0.01 N/m T sat is 373.15 T wall is 383.15 specific heat for both is 1000 J/kgK Thermal conductivity of water is 1 W/mK and for Gas is 0.1 W/mK the viscosity of Water 0.01 Pas and for Gas is 1E-5 Pas I chose the secondary phase Gas (H2O) and primary phase Water (H2O) and made the VOF as composite and chose a specified filed for the gas on the right side wall for the initial conditions, the pressure was put as the atm pressure static temp. was put as 373.15 K velocity was put as 0 m/s for the right wall boundary condition, I made the temperature specification in the physics condition as a temperature above saturation temp. of 383.15 K The left wall, top wall, and bottom wall was put as plane symmetry I know that there is something wrong with it. Can you help me?? Also, I want to specify the latent heat, so can you inform me how? I figured out that it can be set as the heat of formation and standard static temp. in the material property but I do not understand. I remember seeing in the user guide that they put the latent heat as the heat of formation only, then what is the standard static temp. !! Thank you in advance |
