Hello.

I intend to simulate unsteady flow over a rotating helicopter blade.. I meshed it using overset mesh technique with refinement near the surface with 3.7 M cells. On runnning, Pressure and temperature correction is limited to 100 cells..and max temp is limited to 5000K is shown during every iteration( please see the attachment).Residual plot looks unsatisfactory.. Why does this happen?...Can anyone suggest a solution to avoid this....Thanks in advance...

First thing I would check would be your y+ values and make sure they are appropriate for your wall model. Second, I would make sure you don't have any localized shocks that would need to be resolved by mesh refinement. Third, make sure your time step is appropriate.

Just out of curiosity, how many degrees per time step does your rotor translate?

Hi...i am doing a case of hover condition with 424 rpm....my time step is 7.86*10^-4s ie 2 deg rotation...my y+ values are <1 expect at wing tips....
