Nusselt Number expression for trapezoidal cross-section

Hello all,
I am working on heat simulation(in star ccm+) in which I need to find the heat distribution between hot gas(355K) and coolant(300K) which are flowing in two trapezoidal cross-sectional channels. In this, I need to formulate convective heat transfer coefficient h from nusselt number equation as below Nu= hD/k => h=Nu*k/D so my issue here is to find an expression for the Nusselt number, which we have some standard equations for the circular cross-sections but not for trapezoidal c/s. Can any one help me on this, how to find the nusselt number expression for the trapezoidal c/s. Here is my flow details: Forced Convection Laminar flow Thanks in advance! |

For non-circular cross sections you can use the hydraulic diameter instead of the physical diameter.
