Hi

I am simulating flow over a helicopter with 4 blades rotating at specific rpm in hover configuration.I would like to measure the blade surface pressure on the blade at various locations r/R with azimuthal angle ie for 1 revolution of blade in STARCCM+. For eg i want to measure the pressure variation on the surface at r/R=0.8 above and below the surface for 1 rev. Can someone help me out how to measure the blade pressure and pressure coefficient

Dear John

To plot XY parameters or variables on the blade surface especially on a particular section you should do the following:

1) Create a derived part as a section plain but in its properties when you are adjusting it, in the "Parts" section choose those surfaces related to the helicopter blade which are your interest to measure the pressure on it.

2) After creating the section, when you select it, it will show only those sections of the blades where have been cut by the plain section and will be highlighted in pink

3) In the Plots node create an XY plot. go to the coordinates. Give it the coordinate and direction of interest in a particular time of interest where you want to extract the plot in the X axis section. For the Y axis, choose a field function of interest such as Pressure, etc

Hope that works

Regards
