Hi all,

I have evaluated pressure distribution for an airfoil, and now I have exported Cp values for 600 points along the surface of my airfoil. My problem is that only the x-value (geometric xcoordinate for pressure point) and the corresponding Cp value are exported, not the y-coordinate of the evaluation point on the surface. I have been looking everywhere to find a feature to export these surface coordinates, but I haven't found it.
When I resolve my mesh more finely, the surface points increase, so maybe it is hidden in airfoil region or mesh?..

Thanks a lot

/Alex

Hi Alex,

the plot you have created only uses the vector [1,0,0]. Every point which is not on that vector is projected onto it. so there is no additional information left to find.

I suggest you to create an internal table. Go to tool > table and open the context menu on table. Create a XYZ internal table. Select the new table, set a name and select the field function you are interested in. As input part select the wing's wall boundary. In 3d, you might create a plane section of that boundary before.

When properly setup, open the context menu on the internal table and run Extract.
Now you can export it to csv format.

Best regards,
Sebastian

Dear Alext I have a problem same as you. I want to extract the same plot that you put here. How did you manage to extract the data on a plane perpendicular to the airfoil? I want to do the same on spanwise sections of the airfoil.

Thanks in advance

Hi Soroush,

citing an answer which has just been given a few hours ago:

Thank you so much! I had the exact same problem and you just saved me! Best regards,
