How to deal with prism layers in sharp trailing edge of the airfoil
 

Hey, CFDer,

I'm generating the mesh with trimmed mesh on a sharp trailing edge blade. However the prism layers cannot be generated at the trailing edge in spite that I reduce the minimum thickness and the convex angle in the expert setting.

Anyone can help me how to handle with the sharp trailing mesh in Sta CCM+.

There are no magic bullets for this, it's a hard problem. Did you reduce both thickness percentages in the prism layer mesher settings?


You can also have better luck if you reduce the total thickness near the trailing edge, or get rid of the sharp edge.
