Hi all

I'm a beginner to Star-CCM+. I'd like to subtract my building (imported CAD model) and block but somehow it showed a message "Feature execution failed. SubtractBodies 1 : Subtraction would produce a non-manifold body". I just don't know what to do and I tried to fix my geometry in AutoCAD but it still didn't work. Can anyone give me some advice, please?

Thank you

Thank you

Check every body if it's fully closed manifold. Right click on every body and check for errors. If bodies have free edges and non-manifold edges and vertices then it is most probable that Boolean operations wont work.
Hope this helps.

Hi Ashok

Thank you for your advice. I have checked every body and couldn't find any error. When I tried substracting one by one, it worked. But when I substracted all together, I still got the same problem.
However, I think I have solved the problem. I deleted some part of the bodies and it seemed to work.

Thank you

Try to move the object down and to subtract then - the problem might arise at the very bottom, that happens sometimes.

Another possible reason - input bodies are ok, but the result os subtraction is non-manifold like in the image: cubes are valid, but trying to subtract small cubes from the big one will result in error.
