I just setup STAR CCM+ and I have license error in the below. Can you help me how to solve this error.

I created environment variable.


Starting local server: starccm+ -server -rsh ssh
Serial process 4996

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ 2019.2 Build 14.04.011 (win64/intel18.3vc14-r8)

License build date: 09 November 2018
This version of the code requires license version 2019.06 or greater.
Licensing problem: Unable to find a path to any license file or license server. Please create the CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE environment variable and point it to the license server.

What is your license server arrangement? What did you set the environmental variable as?

Environmental Variable: CDLMD_LICENSE_PATH
Variable Value: Location of file

Environmental Variable: CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE
Variable Value: 2019@servername

Okay... but where is the actual license? Do you have one? Who has is and where is it located?

The variable value of CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE is usually
where blah blah blah is the address or machine name of the server that has this license file. It could be a machine name or an ip address. It could even be something like:


1999 is the most common port. Depending on your network setup the port might be 2019.
