Default Mesh Deformation not working when using Adjoint Solver

Hello!

I am new to the adjoint solver, and am trying to optimize the mass flow rate through a vent on a car. Everything seems to be working, but when I run the mesh deformation, it only deforms the mesh by around 1e-6%, so essentially zero. I have been following the steps in the tutorial guide, and have gotten the tutorial case to work properly, but am unable to replicate it in my set-up.

I have the entire fluid domain set up as one region, and the vent as another region with interfaces at the inlet and outlet of the vent. I have my adjoint cost function tied to a mass flow report on the outlet interface of the vent. The adjoint solver is converging with the restarted GMRES method, surface sensitivity is calculated and is shown in an vector displayer. The region I want to deform is set to floating, but the mesh will just not deform. Could there be a common step I am missing?

Thank you!
