Acoustics

Hello All,

Is there a way to create a sound source (like a audio speaker, ultrasound machine) and see the effect of the acoustic wave on the surrounding atmosphere.

Thanks,
Yogesh

It was possible previously using an acoustic wave solver.
You need to add a noise source.

A sound source is (crudely) just a pressure or velocity inlet. You just prescribe the pressure or velocity fluctuation as a function of time.

Thank You for the responses. I hope they add this module in later versions.

If I give fluctuating pressures, will the pressure not disperse in all directions from the boundary. I believe in ultrasound wave, the pressure will be generated all along the wave (and then may be disperse in the entire region or the gas compresses and expands and not disperse the pressure in the region)

Thank You.
