Goodmorning everyone,

I am a newbie in the CFD analysis and a new user of Star CCM+

For my master thesis I have to study the aerodynamical performances of a car, and i imported it as an x_t file on the software but i can't convert sheed bodies to solid bodies; I have tried with extrustions, extended surface and many other ways including the surface wrapper (i have read the other thread with a similar problem with the boat, but that it didn't help me).

Can't find any solution in Steve Portal too, someone could help me please?

Here's a picture one of the many components i have to convert from sheet to solid

Well for that particular part all you have to do is click on the green edges and select fill holes in the surface repair menu. I suggest you go through the surface repair tutorials.

Hi me3840 and thank you for your reply,

what i am really intended to do is to ad a little bit of thickness on the shoulder of my tyre, and the "fill holes" options would close the whole sides of the wheel

If the geometry is drawn wrong then your best path forward is to go back to your CAD package and fix it.

You can do somewhat basic modifications in CCM as well. Select the surfaces you want to translate in some specific direction and then in surface repair, Go into Global>>Translate or inflate.
Remember the capabilities in this section are quite limited, so if you can go0d knowledge of CAD package, it is better to do it in there.
