Hello everybody,

I have a few questions about design parameters to adjust the geometry:
  1. Can "Surface Mesh Parts" (green) be modified in geometry using "Freeform Surface Deformation"?
  2. Can design parameters from "CAD Parts" (blue), such as the diameter of a pipe, be changed within StarCCM+?

Hello. As far as I know, If you want to create design parameter in STAR CCM+ you should do it in 3D-CAD module and you can not open a surface mesh parts in 3D-CAD. However if you have CAD parts it would work fine to create design parameters via selecting expose parameter command. Regarding the Free Surface Forming again you are able to do it in 3D-CAD module.

ok thanks.

- How is it possible to change the dimensions of a CAD part (blue) that is opened with 3D CAD? As far as I've tried it, I could e.g. only carry out further extrusions etc., but do not change the existing block.

- Is there a way to edit surface mesh parts with free surface forming, e.g. after exporting the surface mesh part, editing with another program and then importing it?
