Hi, guys
About multiphase coupling...

Does anyone know if it is possible to simulate in STARCCM+ using four-way coupling?

What type of 4-way coupling are you talking about.?
Like now in latest versions of CCM, Eulerian VOF-Lagrangian-wall film is possible.

The question is insufficient itself to provide any type of answer. Ask the right question right way, you will get the answer.

Hello,

I'm starting studies in this area.
I found on "Coupled CFD-DEM modeling - Hamid Norouzi" book this representation:

So, in my simulation with "two-way" coupling (Next image)
I don't have this behavior of streamlines with particles, so I thought it was a characteristic of these 'n'-ways strategies.

"Models>>Lagragian Multiphase>>Lagragian Multiphase>>Particulas>>Models>>TWO-WAY COUPLING"

Thanks a lot.

btw, in my attempts:
3000 spheres randomly arranged in the cube, without gravity, they are pushed down only by a current of air at 5m/s from top to bottom.

The initial state:

Actual state:

sorry for not putting the images in place of the link, I couldn't.

if you setup fluid flow with dem with two way coupling and drag enabled and maybe other dem settings too that i cant remember at present (check in a good tutorial and the help) then you will achieve what that reference calls 4 way coupling - this is not a common term that i have heard of.
however be aware that the reference shows streamlines avoiding the dem particles and star does not do this with its dem physics. if you want this sort of flow resolution combined with particles then ignore dem and you might consider lots of spherical dfbi ball regions and use the contact feature to capture the particle interactions and with a much finer mesh
