RMS values for velocity at a plane section of the domain

Hello everyone

does anyone know how to get RMS values for velocity at a plane section of the domain within an transient simulation in STAR-CCM+ ?

Thanks

Create the plane in a derived part.

Create a monitor for the variance of velocity and select that plane.

Run the transient simulation and voila.

Technically this isn't the rms yet, you still need to take the sqrt root of it in a user defined field function.

Also, you probably mean rmse and not rms velocity. If you actually want the rms velocity then remember to add the mean back in.
