Hey

I'm trying to create a fluid domain for my sim with custom volumetric controls to cut down computation time. I have 3 cuboidal volumes of decreasing size, each with increasingly finer meshes inside each other to simulate air flow over a complex blunt body.
The meshes themselves are fine and look good however i am having troube with my regions and boundaries. I have looked at the tutorials in the STAR CCM+ manual but cant quite get it since the air does not flow inside the other volumes.
I want to have a single stangation inlet and pressure outlet on the outermost volume and have the boundaries of the finer meshes not affect the flow of the air however i can't get this to work. I dont know if it's because i have set up the regions wrong or my parts (and surfaces). Currently i have a region for each volume(part) plus one for my blunt body.

If anyone knows how to do this please let me know asap.

Thanks
Alex

May be you could a picture of your problem. Hope your interfaces are well created between your regions.

You do not need 1 region for each volume. You should only have 1 region for them all. Use a volumetric control and your cuboidal volumes to control the mesh size. It's probably best for you to review the meshing tutorials, as I'm sure this concept is covered.
