L/D ratios seem ridiculously high, but don't understand why
 

Sorry to post this, but am at a complete loss with it now. Been away from Star CCM+ for a few years, so have come back to it being a little rusty as I re-familiarise myself with it.

Anyhow, have been given a model of a car aerodynamic rear wing. Seemed straightforward enough at the time of accepting the work. Although, the meshing caused me more of a headache than I ever remember from past use, but that seems to be sorted now. So, am running through simulations at at various speeds and angles of attack, but the L/D ratios just seem to be giving increasingly bizarre high values. Have gone through everything, that I can think of, and all the input values all seem to be correct, and all seems to converge with no issues. Using K-e turbulence

So can anyone point out to this halfwit, as to the most likely cause of these ridiculously high L/D ratios, cos it's driving me bonkers now

Not helped by the fact the people who gave me this wing are clueless as to what an aerofoil section is, so it's pure guesswork in identifying it, but without having to chronologically going through every single NACA aerofoil section, I'd hazard a guess it's something like a NACA6409(il). Chord = 0.25m AR=7. This current sim is 40mph at 4deg, yet it's spitting out a nonsense L/D ratio of 184.

Drag too low and it's doing my sodding head in.

Just wanted to say, thank you all for your support and knowledge /guidance on this matter.

Thankfully, I have overcome this issue by further adjustment to the prism layers, wake refinement and change of turbulence model.

All due respect, you posted the question on a Thursday and are basically upset that nobody looked at it over the weekend. There are questions that go years without a response sometimes... its an internet message board, not a paid tutor. Furthermore, your question rambles on and on with a lot of irrelevant information. It is hard to follow AND been asked before over and over again, a thousand different ways. Had you followed the 'READ THIS FIRST: How to Ask A Question on the Forums' link at the top of the forum page, all of this unpleasantness could have been avoided.

PS - If you are going to behave like this, you are unlikely to get help or sympathy from anyone here. Those of us that do reach out and help, have a spare hour or two here and there. It isn't a job, we don't get paid and we don't always have the answer you are looking for.
