Hey guys. I am modelling a tapered and swept 3D wing and I am having trouble with the meshing. In one of the pictures attached is a cross section of the mesh, and it seems like the prism layer is mixing with the poleyhedral mesh. Is this affecting my results? The solution also does not converge using the segregated solver, only with the coupled. y+ values are less than 2 so I assume the mesh is fine enough? Any help would be appreciated.

That may just be an artifact of the cut plane. Try moving it to other locations and see if you still see it.

That being said, your trailing edge mesh needs some attention and your growth rate from prism to core mesh is very aggressive. You will definitely need to consider wake refinement if you want quality results.

Wrong grid. You are interested in frontal resistance or all forces at the same time? I think you should be interested in all forces. Then the grid will be completely different.

If you want important turbulence models to work, you need to make the meshes much denser. Millions.

The main purpose of the number of prismatic layers is the fitting of the data to the experimental data and their further use in other calculations. This requires experience. Your prism mesh is initially very thick.

A significant number of users who have reached the top have their own theory of using grids. This is due to the individual experience of achieving a result.
Program developers have much lower levels of this knowledge.

I don't understand why the poly and the layers are overlapping. What settings have you used for mesh?
