Hey, CFDers

I am confused by the periodic boundary in the simulation about the duct wind turbine.

I plan to divide the wind turbine into three parts, and only simulate one blade with the periodic interface. If I assign the blade to the rotating region, and the duct to the static region, the rotating region would move out of the duct. If I apply the rotating motion to the rotating region and static region together, the duct would also rotate with the blade. So I fall into the confusion.

Anyone could give me some advice?

This is actually a default scenario for simulating rotating components. Have a look at some tutorials of any CFD code, I am sure you will find information there on how to prepare your domain.
In short: the blade needs to be in the rotating domain and can be periodic. The rotation must be defined accordingly so that it rotates around its center of rotation, consequently it will move around in the domain. Stationary components should be in the stationary domains. At the interface between rotating and stationary domains, you should use a mixing plane interface when the rotor is periodic.
