Hello guys

I am running a simulation on a 90 degree pipe bend and I want to create a mesh refinement at the high gradients of the flow. More specifically I am trying to create a field function which will split the mesh cells in two only if the velocity of the flow is above a certain value.
I have created so far a field function where the normalised velocity is calculated (${Normalized Velocity}*${Cell Width} ) and when I am using a refinement function where I used the following formula (${Normalized Velocity}>1.4)? ${Cell Width}/2 :0) however after adapting this to my mesh I get all the cells that are in the mid section of the pipe to split and not the ones where the velocity gradient is large. Can someone help me fix this

Thank you

Did you check how (${Normalized Velocity}>1.4)? ${Cell Width}/2 :0) looks like on a plane section slice for example?

Yes I did and I have figured it out, I had to use the velocity as a scalar function not as a vector. Thanks for corresponding.
