Hi,

Do any experienced users have any recommendations with regards to colourblind friendly colorbars that are available in STAR-CCM+?

I am aware grayscale is an option but I was hoping there are other alternatives

Thanks in advance for the suggestions

Can you make your own colormaps in StarCCM? I usually use Tecplot for visualization, where I refer to ColorBrewer for the colormaps.

It's also helpful for photocopy friendly, which is good for journal papers.

Hi,

Thank you for the response. I have come across colorbrewer in my search.

As far as I know you can manipulate existing colormaps in ccm+. It might be possible to create a colormap from scratch.

I was hoping for some recommendations on which of the built-in colormaps may be considered colorblind friendly besides grayscale. Grayscale can be a bit boring for visualisation on colour displays.

Apparently, it's by going to Tools > Colormaps > New and then you can create your own. Taking a quick look at the built in colormaps, green-mauve might be a good one, or the indigo-white.

Basically, avoid anything that has red-green on opposite spectra or blue-yellow since those are the most common colorblind types.
