Hello all,
First off, let me start by saying that I realize Ubuntu is not a supported OS for StarCCM+, and my life would be easier if I were using a supported OS, but I would like to use StarCCM+ on my Ubuntu machine to allow working on multiple projects in other software at the same time. I have downloaded StarCCM+ v2206 from the Siemens Support Center and installed it successfully on my machine (a Dell 5570 laptop with a 12th gen i7 proc running Ubuntu 22.04) with the provided script. I don't believe there are any issues with the installation process itself, as I can successfully start StarCCM+ and carry out all of my normal pre-processing steps. However, trying to load any sort of scene / visualization (e.g. starting a sim and viewing residuals, looking at the mesh, etc.) causes an immediate crash and the program exits with the following error: Code:
LLVM ERROR: Do not know how to split the result of this operator! Code:

To anyone in the same boat: it seems that including the "-mesa" flag upon startup fixes this issue, e.g.:
Code:
/path/to/star/binary/starccm+ -mesa -other -options |

But from what I remember from the user guide - mesa is the slowest (software-rendered) graphics.
