Hi,

could someone briefly indicate the set-up procedure to achieve the follwing motion:

A hydrofoil translates along an axis. While translating the foil should oscillate in a rotational motion around a fixed point in the hydrofoil.
The angles of the chord towards a body-fixed coordinate system are provided a table, that gives the rotation angle for 100 time steps. At the 101st time step the rotational angles should start again from the beginning of the table.

I have defines a local COS that moves with the hydrofoil.
How do I setup the superposing motion making use of the table?

Best regards,
Tim

Hi Tim,

I believe you have to setup a Translation motion (in tools, motions) and then create a superposed rotation on it.
For the translation you select your input velocities and the coordinate system. Then when you create the superposed rotation, you can select to define it with rotation angles and again I think you have to select the correct coordinate system.
Note that the coordinate system of the rotation should then be managed my the translation motion.
Then in regions, you select the rotation motion to be applied to the region (rather than it being stationary).
Most likely you'll have to create some field functions to interpolate your input table.
But I don't know how you'd loop the table from the start.
It would be a good idea to create appropriate reports, monitors and plots to check the rotations and translations against the input data.
