The assignment I'm working on requires me to use a pre-existing STAR-CCM+ model to predict the temperature difference at which the flow becomes unstable. The geometry is a square pipe loop with vertical heating and cooling. I have a mass flow monitor at the cross section of the pipe. My thinking was to run the simulation with increasing temperature difference at the hot end and the cold end until I see oscillations in the mass flow reading, however, my supervisor wants me to validate that result with a time dependant simulation as well. This I have no clue how to do. Any advice on this would be amazing.

P.s. the working fluids will be air, water, lead-bismuth, and liquid lead.
