streamlines

Hi all,

Iīm simulating a flow past cylinder... The defaultīs streamlines created in StarCCM+ considers that the observer is moving with the object (the cylinder in this case).

What if I would like to create streamlines but considering that the observer is not
moving in relation to the object? Anybody knows how to do that?

This is for educational purposes only...

Thank you

Hi

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you mean - what would be the difference in the streamlines if you were stationary as opposed to moving with the object.

One thing you might try is to activate the animation of the streamlines, maybe this will give you the effect you're looking for.

Regards

Hi Bernarde

Thank you for the answer

Iīm going to try explaining my problem better:

1st case: The object is stationary and the fluid is moving (wind tunnel for example). Thatīs the streamlines I can easy generate in StarCCM+

2nd case: The fluid is stationary and the body is moving: I want to generate streamlines for this case (they are quite diferent from the 1st case)!

If you do have the time, please check this movie out:

http://www.eesc.sc.usp.br/netef/Oscar/pgm2.mpg

at 0:40 the explanation starts. At 1:06 it shows the streamlines for the 1st case. At 1:31 it show the streamlines I want (2nd case)

There are two picture attached showing the diference:

Thank you in advance
