Thanks. I have values for Vm and radius but I am confused as what to put for the radial coordinate given as the model is a pipe.

you put nothing for this.. star cmm+ take the values ;-).. right click and make 3 field functions...
velocity (but scalar in this case)
radius
and Vm

for the radius and Vm you set your value and for velocity you set what I wrote to you ;-)

Ok ive created 3 field functions as advised, am i correct in saying that radius and Vm are both dimensionless? Another thing is how can i verify that the velocity profile is parabolic through a plot?

Thanks massively for the help.

its doesent matter... star cmm+ count with value.. If you want you can write m/s or what ever
For Plot:
better you do a Scene.. right click on scene... than vector.. star cmm+ take normally velocity from self.. if not.. right click on the blue line and choice velocity... if you want to see the radial velocityprofil so click on the "+" by scene... than click on vector.. after you can see under the properties window "display mode".. there you should to choise "Line Integral"... so you can fast see that your fieldfunction works or not!

Cannot evaluate field function Centroid

Hello everyone,

I am trying to create a variable density ( varying with height ) profile in a rectangular domain and the equation I'm using is:

0.2257*(pow($$Centroid[1],3))-0.4868*(pow($$Centroid[1],2))+0.06016*(pow($$Centroid[1],1))+1.301

I'm first generating a report using the expression and when I try to run the report ( after initialization ) I get an error saying:

Cannot evaluate field function Centroid.

Can someone please help me with this.

Thank you in advance.
