New in Star-CCM+
 

Hi,

I am new in the filed of CFD as well as in STAR -CCM+. I have a lot of questions to be asked in this area. I put here few of them:

*Can you suggest some books to get basic knowledge on CFD?
*Is there any book written on STAR-CCM+ to guide new user, if so please suggest me the name or link?
* As now i am playing with the software, I import a *.step file in STAR-CCM+ where there is only one region and one boundary? How is it possible to break the region into few boundaries using the software?
* How to convet the step file in *.ccm file?

I guess, I asked a lot of silly questions. However, I need to know the answers as now I am in a do or die situation:p.

use the userguide included with the software and do the tutorials they will learn you all you need to know

Thank you so much for your advice. But the matter of fact that I am using a crack version of the software so I dont have any user guide. Is there link in website to get the userguide?

Dear Saha,

For your first question, there are a lot of books and resources where you can refresh your basics on CFD.
1. Introduction to CFD by Anderson this is a very good book for the starters.
2. Its always better for some to be taught in class find the CFD lectures by IIT or MIT. Both are good. I personally think the IIT lectures are more comprehensive.

There is and user guide pdf all of the STAR-CCM+ packages and it comes together STAR-CCM+ installation as default.

You can find under "doc" directory in your installation path;)

And yes, Anderson's book is really good for beginners!
