Macro to export data
Hello, I am new to Star CCM+ but even newer to Java. I fully appreciate how useful it can be and am starting to try and learn it.

At the moment my general Java knowledge is poor but specific Star CCM+ opperations is non existent. I would like to create a macro that exports some of the solution's Scalar plots plus scalar area averaged values at the last itteration, so the final value of outlet area averaged temperature for example. I would like this data and scalar images exported to an Excel file with the name of the simulation as the name for the excel file.

Is this a pretty tricky task to do?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

The easiest way is to record a macro and edit it slightly (e.g. path names...)

You can access report values via a macro with something like

AreaAverageReport areaAverageReport_0 = (AreaAverageReport) simulation_0.getReportManager().getReport("Name of report");

I'm not sure wheter it's possible to write an Excel file directly from ccm+, but at least, you can write a .csv-file. It will need just a little knowledge of java programming.

Let me know if you still need help.
