DEM for erosion

Dear Sir or madam,

I am going to simulate the erosion inside pipe due to presences of sand particles. I want to choose Lagrangian model and DEM model for interacting between particles. but for modeling the Lagrangian if i choose DEM particles from particle type so i the erosion option will disappear and if i choose marital particle from particle type, there will be no boundary properties inside ( Lagrangian phases - boundary conditions-physics condition)

could you please help me to know how can i use Lagrangian model, DEM model and erosion together. does it work if i chose martial particle from physics type but in this case i mentioned above there will be no boundary properties inside ( Lagrangian phases - boundary conditions-physics condition) Is that way correct or how should i model them together.

Any advice for this problem will be great.

kind regards,
alan

hi, I'm working on the particle-fluid flow simulation now, and I'm just get to use DEM, so, do you use DEM in your slover or you use DEM as an independent slover

i have read that STAR-CCM+ is the only code that models the fluid flow and DEM in the one solver, and it's easy to use. but erosion does not seem to be available with DEM at present- only with Lagrangian particles.

so you have used DEM to calculate some cases? may I have you e-mail to contact you more convenience?

i have only had quick play with it, nothing serious at this stage. I suggest you do the help tutorial cases on DEM - always a good place to start.
