when i try to mesh a model for two continuum (solid-fluid conjugate heat transfer problem), begining of the mesh, starccm+ try to merge same boundaries for each region and then one boundary can not be merged and, there is a message as shown in below.

Merging boundaries for interface In-place 3:
calling face imprinter with tolerance=0.00542246
EdgeMerger:MKMesherCommon::EdgeMerger::InternalDat a::collapseEdge:2582: edge not replaced!
Error during surface remeshing, deleting resulting mesh

EdgeMerger:MKMesherCommon::EdgeMerger::InternalDat a::collapseEdge:2582: edge not replaced!:
Command: GenerateSurfaceMesh
CompletedCommand: GenerateSurfaceMesh
In: [Machine::main]
Recoverability: Non-recoverable
error: Server Error

What does it mean? How can i resolve the problem?

Urgently help me!!!

Probably the boundaries defining the the interface between solid and fluid do not fit together well.

Solution:
  • Within the solid surfaces take those surfaces defining the interface to the fluid.
  • Click with right mouse botton "Create Interface" --> new boundary with the solid region is defined (copy of first)
  • Make new region from boundary (right mouse botton). This will be the region of the fluid.
  • Close the fluid region as needed.
As the new boundary surface/region is a 1:1 copy of the solid surface you will get a working interface.

best regards,
Matthias
