Gas-Solid Euler-Euler solver in Star CCM+

Hello!

First of all I am new to Star CCM+, and I have only gone through part of the User Manual as I do not have the software yet.

I am currently evaluating if I am to use Star CCM+ or Fluent for an Euler-Euler simulation of a dense granular flow. This means solid-gas simulation probably using kinetic theory descriptions (as described in Gidespow's book Multiphase Flow and Fluidization).

So here comes the question:

Can I use Star CCM+ to simulate solid-gas systems with an euler-euler approach?

As in a solid-gas fluidised bed, or a hopper discharge for example, however because of the size of the problem I am not allowed to use an Euler-Lagrange (aka, coupled DEM) approach.

Anyways, I appreciate your help on my issue!

Regards,

Miguel
