average scalar on each face

Dear all,

In the formulation of a transport model, I am trying to use field function and formulate a flux for each cell on each of the faces normal to the gravity. the defined scalar on each face is an average of the values of the two neighbor cell to that face. How is it possible to address a specific face of a cell? like $$Area[1]

Could you do this more easily using one of the built in reports like massflow average?

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to formulate a settling flux through the faces normal to gravity with a settling velocity as a function of the averaged scalar values on those faces. I was wondering if it is possible to formulate something exactly like that mass flow function but with a user defined velocity and on certain faces.

It is neither possible to access a specific face of a cell nor to reference a specific cell.
E.g. you can't create a field function referencing the velocity in two neighbouring cells (apart from some some field functions for just some single cells, hand-made with a huge effort by the use of cell sets and reports)

You might contact the CD-adapco support to check if you can do this with user coding.

Thank you very much for the reply. I will try to contact the support again.
