I want to add new scalars to chemkin database to have the effect of EGR. How can I do that? I'm using CFM model and there is no option to define percentage of EGR in either es-ice or in prostar. Can anyone help me to incorporate the effect of EGR for SI engine combustion simulation.

I use ECFM-3Z spark model, you can set exhaust gas percentage in es-ice/star controls/boundary condition/port1/"Inlet face" setting panel...

Thanx for the reply. But i dnt have license for ECFM-3Z. That is why i'm using CFM model and there is no option to provide % EGR in boundary conditions/port1 panel. Please tell me what to do in that case. There is an option of switching ON or OFF EGR in combustion panel and no other option anywhere to put EGR % in CFM model.

Maybe you can modify the geometry to add an inlet boudary for EGR massflow at the upstream of the intake port.

And then, you can add one scalar mass flow rate inlet boundary(region) ,in the "Extra Regions" panel of port1,where you can specify the mass flowrate as a constant value or by using table file.

Finally, you can set the boudary mass fraction of CO2,vapor and N2 etc, to a specified value(the sum of them should =1) at the corresponding boudary numble of the scalar mass flow rate inlet boundary in Prostar/Define Boundaries/Scalar boundaries panel.

Hope it works.
