I am modeling heat transfer through a porous medium and am having trouble getting the solution to converge. The heat transfer is part of a more complicated model that includes multiple reacting species, and electric potential calculated based on a Butler-Volmer formulation in posdat.f. Heat transfer is being added to the model which currently runs and converges. I am not using the conjugate heat transfer model and am wondering if that could make the difference.

If, anyone with more experience modeling porous media and heat transfer in Star could give me suggestions on how to improve convergence it would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. I have played with the relaxation factors for heat transfer and currently have them set very low, 0.1. Also I tried changing the alpha and beta terms in the porous medium model to see how that affects things, and found not much difference in convergence.
