Hi, guys

I am using Star-CD V3.22 now to simulate one moving mesh problem.

In my case, I need to use EDCE command to complete my movement. However, I found that I cannot deactivate cells which have boundaries on it.

If I want to deactivate a whole set of one cell type, is it possible? Can I use commands wrote in my cgrid.cgrd file to delete specific boundaries at an given time and then deactivate those cells which originally have boundaries on it?

Please help on it, and any comment is fine, thanks.

You can delete cells which have boundaries.

You should be able to delete all the cells in a set (edcell, ctype). You still need to follow the rules for cell addition/deletion.

Cell addition/deletion commands are usually placed in the event file. The cgrid.cgrd file is usually vertex manipulation commands.

Thanks a lot, Pauli.

What I did now is that I create two types of cell and connect them together, which might be ctype 1 and ctype 2, with "attach" boundaries located on the ends of both parts.

My problem is that when I try to deactivate the cell of ctype 1 connected to ctype 2, there will be an error shown up, which said "cell is connected to an boundary".

However, when I deactivated the cell belongs to ctype 2 which connects to ctype 1, there is no error. All my cell modification commands are written in the event file.

I still not quite understand all the rules for cell addition/deletion, but I will try to figure it out. Once again thanks for your kind help.
