Hello everyone,

i'd need your help with a problem i'm having in a transient analysis in Ansys Workbench.

I've made a composite model of 2 different materials and i'd like to change the material property (Young's modulus) of one of them after reaching a max.principal stress of 100 Mpa.

I've done everything in the Workbench(model, surface load, time steps etc) and i'd like to add an APDL command, but i don't know how it works exactly.I've read some tutorials and i thought of something like this:

/SOLU !Command in the solution department

*dim,TIMEA,array,20 !Definition of an array named TIMEA with the
dimension 20

*DO,i,1,20 !Since the surface load is divided in 20 load steps,i'd like a
sort of counter in the array which would run from load
step 1 to 20

IF,STRESS1,2,GT,300 !if the max.principal stress of the second material is
greater than 300 Mpa

THEN,MPCHG,EX,2,30000 !then the material property(Young's Modulus) of
the second material will change to 30000 Mpa
at that loadstep

*ENDDO

SOLVE

I don't know if those commands are correct and if i can do it this way?

I'd be really gratefull if anyone could help me out?

Best regards,

Leo
