Hi everybody,
I am trying to use the superposition of the mode for accelerating the calculation time of an Harmonic Analysis with ANSYS Mechanical APDL. I build up a simple case with a beam fixed at one end and a displacement load at the other one. I build a simple table for the variable displecement respect to the FREQ primary variable. Then I solved the Harmonic Analysis using the "Mode Superpos'n" Solution Method. But from the "file.mcf" I saw that all the Modal Coordinates were null. Does anybody know if is possible or not to obtaing solution using only displacement load and not the "Full" Solution Method? Thanks everybody in advage Have a nice work with ANSYS Giorgio |

The simplest way I conduct modal super-position harmonic response simulations with a displacement boundary condition in ANSYS Structural (i.e. in the Workbench environment) is with the Enforced Motion ACT Extension from the ANSYS Customer Portal. Where it is listed for version 15.0 but it also works for version 16.0.
This ACT also allows for acceleration to be a boundary condition at surfaces. Both of these are very useful for simulating sine sweeps on vibration shakers. I don't know about doing this in the ANSYS APDL (aka ANSYS Classic) environment as I don't use that. |
