APDL post-processing problem: plot on path

2 Attachment(s)
Hi folks,

I pretty newbie to APDL but I have to use it for post-processing, mainly for making some good plots. So I used the basic "path operations". What I did was, first I "Define Path", and defined two points. Then I "Map onto Path", choosing von Mises stress, and finally "Plot Path Item-->On Geometry". The model is essentially a 2D rectangle with a whole at the center. Since I used 3D simulation, that model has a thin thickness, as shown in the figure. The whole model was pulled in y direction at top surface with bottom surface fixed and side surfaces frictionlessly supported. Other two surfaces are linear symmetric. The stress distribution, as simulated in Ansys-mechanical, has concentrated stress at the perimeter of hole at the centerline. However, the problem was, when I plotted it, some stress distribution also appeared at the hole region, which was wired because there was no material in the hole. Is there anyone who can tell me what was the problem? why it came to be like that? Did I miss something in the procedure?
