VasuShraShre is on a distinguished road
Hi all,
I am new to simulation but I have studied some Strength of Materials. I wanted to analyse a scissor lift for which i designed a crude geometry in Solidworks and ran it in Ansys 14.5. This is the model

I am applying a downward force of 500N on the top face like this.

Now all other results are according to predicted trends except one. When I do a joint probe on this revolute joint I am getting forces not only on x and y but also z direction!

How is that so? I am applying force in negative Y dir. so I am expecting forces in Y and X direction(Reaction force) as this is a truss. but why in z dir. Can someone please explain
Ps I am new to this forum too so if this is not the right way to ask questions please let me know

Hi Shreyas,
Could you upload an archive of your model and share it?
