I am working on a ansys workbench trying to run a simulation using ACP pre —-> transient thermal coupled with static structural.

The problem is a simple cylinder sheet. plys are created in acp pre. The temperature of the cylinder decreases from 120 to 20 degree celcius. Then i will link it with static structure and look for deformations in cylinder. In transient thermal it is giving the following error.

“Layered section is not allowed in the current analysis” pls see attached picture.

Please help to solve this error.

Hi Hassan,

I have the same problem the last weeks! Did you find the solution?
I would really appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,
Achilleas

"Layered thermal shells are released as Beta options. So in order to get rid of the error message, one needs to turn on beta options (Workbench >> Tools>> Options>>Appearance> Beta options) and resolve.

Thanks a lot!
Your Cylinder sheet is modelled with shell elements? If so, were you able to plot the temperatures in every ply,or was it not part of your study?

I transfered solid composite data while linking it with transient thermal. Is this what you are asking? Yes i was able to view the temperature contours.
