I am trying to measure Poisson ratio using ANSYS Workbench static structural module. Can I use the deformation values to measure Poissons ratio.

I worry that deformation value gives displacement/movement of structure rather than how much the structure has expanded in both directions?

Please help

Yes. Poisson ratio is related to a whole structure.
Auxetic have negative Poisson ratio

Make block of your structure, load it, measure deformations, calculate strains and poisson ratio.
