I try to build SU2 from source code in windows 10, according the instructions in the official website of SU2. However, I got the error information after I execute the following command: ninja.exe -C build install.

[441/447] Linking target SU2_GEO/src/SU2_GEO.exe
c++ @SU2_GEO/src/SU2_GEO.exe.rsp
D:/Program Files/mingw-w64/x86_64-8.1.0-win32-seh-rt_v6-rev0/mingw64/bin/../lib/gcc/x86_64-w64-mingw32/8.1.0/../../../../x86_64-w64-mingw32/bin/ld.exe: cannot find -lD:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\MPI\Lib\x64\msmpi
collect2.exe: error: ld returned 1 exit status

not that I know anyting about windows build but

cannot find -lD:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\MPI\Lib\x64\msmpi
looks you are missing mpi alltogether. Or at least it cannot be accessed. So either install msmpi (not entirely sure how easy or difficult it is). Or build without MPI using -Dwith-mpi=false during the step. (see for that flag)

Maybe these thoughts already help, Best
