Hi,

Is it possible to deform all FFD control points by a specified amount (i.e. a unit deformation in y) to visualise whether they are set up correctly and properly mapped to the geometry.

I think it might be possible using the SU2_DEF command but I cant figure out what options to set in the .cfg file,

Cheers,
M.

Mike,

Yes it is. After setting up the FFD box and creating the new mesh with the FFD information, you need to create a new .cfg. In this .cfg, for the DV_KIND option, there must be one entry of "FFD_CONTROL_POINT", separated by commas, for every control point you want to move. There must also be the same number of entries with the appropriate format, separated by semicolons, for DV_PARAM. The last three numbers of the DV_PARAM entries specify the scale of the movement in the x, y, or z direction. Next, under DV_VALUE, a displacement must be input for each point, separated by commas. Finally, DEFINITION_DV should contain an entry for all of the points you wish to move, where the last three numbers indicate the movement constraints. ex.(0,0,1) means movement only in z.
