Hey all,

Which basis function does SU2 employ in FFD technique of Shape Design Module? Bernstein, B-Spline or NURBS? I learned these three basis functions from literature. May be it is another one that I didn't mentioned.

Hi Bingfei,
please check the contents of config_template.py which would be included within your SU2 master file.
look for the line "FFD_BLENDING".
this provides options for you to use different types of basis functions according to your preference or design requirements.
best wishes
Tom

Thanks Tom for your reminding!

I found the "FFD_BLENDING" in the config_template.cfg. And I saw there's two option of the "FFD_BLENDING": BEZIER and BSPLINE_UNIFORM.

But I didn't use this function in my configuration file when doing shape optimization operation. So how can I know the basis function of FFD in SU2 by default?

In the config_template.cfg file you can find all available config options along with their default values.

Thanks Tim!

I think I understand and find the default basis function of FFD.
