Hi everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible to performed in SU2 an objective function that optimize a lift-to-drag ratio. If it is what is the name of configure option.

Thanks,
João Lourenço

João,
look at the options at the bottom of the config_template.cfg file.
you can use the option OPT_OBJECTIVE to define the objective for your optimisation.
you can use the same options listed for either objective or constraints, e.g:
Code:
% Available flow based objective functions or constraint functions
% DRAG, LIFT, SIDEFORCE, EFFICIENCY,
% FORCE_X, FORCE_Y, FORCE_Z,
% MOMENT_X, MOMENT_Y, MOMENT_Z,
% THRUST, TORQUE, FIGURE_OF_MERIT,
% EQUIVALENT_AREA, NEARFIELD_PRESSURE,
% TOTAL_HEATFLUX, MAXIMUM_HEATFLUX,
% INVERSE_DESIGN_PRESSURE, INVERSE_DESIGN_HEATFLUX,
% SURFACE_TOTAL_PRESSURE, SURFACE_MASSFLOW
% SURFACE_STATIC_PRESSURE, SURFACE_MACH
using EFFICIENCY is the same as lift/drag.
best wishes
Tom

Hi Tom,

Thanks for you help. Can you help me in one more thing? If I want to introduce a pitching moment constraint of Mz => -0.087, how I introduce that in SU2? I don't know the axis direction and moments in SU2 and this leave me crazy.

Thanks for you attention,
João Lourenço
