Dear Forum Members,
I have a turbine blade shroud tip which is non-conformal and want to run an optimization case with discrete adjoint solver. The mesh is generated on ANSYS turbogrid and exported to CGNS using CFX and ICEM. Will it work or is it absolutely necessary to have a conformal tip? I would rather not have a conformal tip because it destroys the mesh. Regards, HashBan |

It is necessary to have a conformal tip, you can enable this in TurboGrid. You need to export CGNS through TurboGrid, not through CFX as exporting via CFX introduces and internal boundary along the tip gap.
