Hello everybody,
I am trying to optimize my geometry with obj_func of SURFACE_STATIC_PRESSURE. I understand that in order to reduce the averaged pressure over a surface I have to set the weighing values as -1. When I use objective like this, Design Iterations stop after 1 adjoint calculation at DSN_002. I tried Wedge Test Cases and they don't work either. When I run a wedge test case for surface_total_pressure it returns the original geometry at DSN_003 and stops. I am trying to read the source code to find a solution but Iam a bit loss at the moment. Any help is appreciated! Thank you. |

Did you have a look at this tutorial that was added recently?
https://su2code.github.io/tutorials/...lent_Bend_Opt/ It optimizes the pressure drop over a 90 degree bend. |

Thank you for the info. I am trying to do an unsteady adjoint simulation so I am following that one tutorial about Unsteady Shape Optimization of an Airfoil.
Also, FADO is a bit complicated to dive in, I am using shape_optimizaton.py at the moment. When I use the weight as +1, it works and changes the geometry accordingly to increase the pressure but adjoint simulations doesn't work for -1. I don't understand the reason behind this. |

I even tried ver6.2.0 for this and the results are the same.
Code:
NIT FC OBJFUN GNORM 1 2 7.760305E+05 4.904019E+03 Optimization terminated successfully (Exit mode 0) Current function value: 775956.901 Iterations: 1 Function evaluations: 3 Gradient evaluations: 1 |
