Does SU2_DDC runs in parallel?
 

Hi

I have a novice question... during domain decompisition, does SU2_DDC runs in parallel, It looks like there is only one process partitioning mesh file? This is because in most clusters there is a memory limit per processor. Before modifying python file parallelcomputation.py I would was wondering if anyone could help me figure it out. Thanks a lot for your help.

SU2_DDC currently runs only in serial. However, for a fairly simple grid, it doesn't take too long to generate the decomposed grids.

Starting with SU2 V2.0.5, SU2_DDC now runs in parallel. METIS is still called in serial at the moment (may change in the near future), but after the initial coloring procedure, the mesh partitions are processed and the files are written in parallel. Further improvements are on the way, but this should help considerably when partitioning large meshes.
