I recently got SU2 installed and running on my PC (Windows 7).
I also have an iMac, though with less memory and slower cpu.

After running a couple of successful test cases (NACA0012)
I want to creating my own airfoil, . . .
so I started poking around for the grid generator . . .
And it’s not clear if SU2 has its own, or if users rely on PointWise or some other commercial grid generator.

I am looking for an open (free or low cost) tool set, as I’m a student working for a startup company with a very tight budget.

I was assuming SU2 has its own grid generation and perturbation tools.
Can someone point me in the right direction?

Ultimately, I'd like to model a spinning turbine in the presence of some fixed geometry. I'd be happy to start by doing some optimization on just the spinning turbine, even on just a single rotating 2-D section.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Hello,

any mesher that can export CGNS format can be used, since SU2 can read CGNS and convert it into SU2 native format. I think most of the meshers are able to export CGNS format. Hope this helps a little bit!
